POSITION SUMMARY

Supervise and perform daily operations of the assigned janitorial contract work.Vocational Instructor will guide fellow co-workers and participants in janitorial duties: cleaning, dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, etc. to keep buildings clean and in an orderly condition.Vocational Instructor must teach, train, support and mentor employees and participants with disabilities.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  1. Perform and supervise janitorial services including but not limited to:

a.       Clean and sanitize all bathroom surfaces.

b.      Cleaning of all offices, empty trash, replace liners, dust surfaces, wipe walls.

c.       Remove trash and recyclables from buildings and transport to appropriate bins.

d.      Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and vacuuming.

e.       Sweep sidewalks and lanai area(s).

f.       Clean all windows, louvers and screens

g.       Clean and polish water fountains

h.      Remove cobwebs and dust

i.        Strip/Wax/Shampoo Carpets/Floors

j.        Restock all supplies

k.      Keep work vehicles clean and organized

  1. Mentor participants in Employment Training Services and fellow co-workers.
  1. Ensure the completion contract specifications.
  2. Vocational Instructor to complete daily paperwork.
  3. Use and maintain janitorial equipment as directed.
  4. Responsible for the condition and maintenance of equipment. Report all needed repairs to CS Supervisor
  5. Ensure, participate, and train in the overall safety, health and well-being of participants.
  6. Enforce and teach all policies and procedures.
  7. Treat all persons with respect.
  8. Responsible for driving team to various contract sites.
  9. Answer all contract related inquiries and report those inquiries to the CS Supervisor.Refer all other inquiries to the appropriate department.
  10. Performs job responsibilities accurately, timely and in a professional manner.
  11. Attend required meetings and training sessions.
  12. Maintain compliance with The Arc of Hiloís Employee and Safety Handbook.
  1. Perform other job related duties as assigned by the CS Supervisor or other designated person(s).


SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education : High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience : Two (2) years janitorial/supervisory experience.

Other Requirements

Must be able to lift 50 pounds.Must be able to maintain an acceptable criminal abstract from the State of Hawaii, as determined by the company. Must be able to maintain Protective Services Central Registry clearances from Adult Protective Services (APS) Central Registry and Welfare Services (CWS) Central Registry. Must maintain CPR and First Aid Certificates. Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and maintain annually a current TB clearance. Must have a Current and Valid Driverís License with a Clean Traffic Abstract.
